March 2020
To all Dumfries students and parents,

I really miss all of you and I am going to give you some websites and ideas to do while you are at home to continue your learning. Of course as my message from the first of the year above is important: 10 Ways to become a better reader and writer: READ, READ, READ, Read, Read , READ, READ, READ, READ, READ.   Also, WRITE, WRITE, WRITE, WRITE, WRITE, WRITE, WRITE, WRITE, WRITE, and  WRITE.

If you need ideas for home during the unexpected break, please look under Dumfries website the useful links for technology ideas along with Dumfries Library Links and Class Pages.  Remember  to  have students continue to read for 20 minutes or more each day and you could also read to them.  In addition, have students write about what they read, write a letter to a teacher, friend or even to you, label things around the house, see if they can find sight words they know, draw pictures and write about what they drew. Enjoy reading and writing with your child! Have fun and keep your child engaged! Look under Useful Links for more information and resources.

Hi! Welcome to Dumfries Elementary. I have been at Dumfries since the 90's. I love working with all the students in the school.  Reading to me is fun and engaging. 10 ways to become a better reader is to: Read, Read, Read, Read, Read, Read, Read ,Read, Read, Read.  I know you will enjoy Dumfries as much as I do!
