Hello! My name is Martina Crichton and I'm thrilled to be a part time ESOL teacher at Dumfries! I was born and raised  in Italy. English is my second language, and I'm very excited to have the opportunity to teach it to other language speakers like me! I attended Wilmington University where I earned a B.S. in business management. After working in the private sector for a while, I then switched careers and became a teacher of Italian through the career switcher program. I taught Italian for 2 years at Beville Middle School , and then earned my pre-K through 12 ESOL certification. I taught at ESOL at Neabsco ES for 3 years and this is my first year at Dumfries.  I enjoy teaching young children how to read and write in English.
I live in Montclair, VA with my husband (Andrew), two elementary school aged children (Melissa and Alex),  our dog (Fiore), our cat (Fufi), our fish (too many to name), our tree frogs (Tomi and Lemon), and our fire bellied toad (Pork Chop).
I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, running, gardening, watching HGTV shows, and bird watching.
