Dear Kindergarten Families:

Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Shannon Best and I am so excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher. This is my first year at Dumfries Elementary and my third year of teaching. This year, I cannot wait to work with you and your child in reaching his or her full potential. In Kindergarten, we will have many hands-on opportunities to learn!

I am looking forward to building parent-teacher relationships this year! I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can send in a note, email me at bestsm@pwcs.edu, call the school at 703-221-3101, or send me a message on Class Dojo! For individual concerns, I will contact you by phone, send a note home, or email you if applicable.

Your involvement in your child’s education will make a large impact on their learning experience. I encourage you to spend time reading to your child daily. There will be opportunities throughout the school year to come into the classroom.

I am looking forward to building relationships and an exciting learning year with you and your child!

Shannon Best
