This can be a very challenging time for students, parents, and educators. Your safety and well-being are extremely important to us. Your school counselors are working remotely and are available to help, if you need anything. We are available by email on our work days and by phone during our office hours. Counselors are NOT providing virtual mental health counseling during school closures; counselors are ONLY providing consultation and connecting students/parents to external resources. Parents or parents WITH their child(ren) can schedule a video conference with counselors who may have questions or concerns about resources and recommendations to assist their child(ren) with anxiety and other issues. Please be sure the parent understands this isnot family counseling or individual counseling for their child(ren). This is consultation.

If a student is ever in an emergency situation he/she is encouraged to call 911 or utilize one of the resources listed below:

PWCS cares deeply about students’ emotional well-being during their time away from school. If a student is in need of emotional support during this time, please feel free to send an e-mail to studentsupportservices@pwcs.edu. A school mental health or health professional will answer and offer virtual support to students to the best of their ability. This e-mail is not to be used for emergency situations as it will not be monitored 24 hours a day. If a student is ever in an emergency situation he/she is encouraged to call 911 or utilize one of the resources listed below:

Ways to ease your child's worries and anxieties:
  1. Talk to them about their worries
  2. Limit news exposure
  3. Stick to routines
  4. Practice mindfulness techniques (Check out our weekly choice board for ideas!)
  5. Be mindful of your own worries! (Talk it out with another adult or friend)
