The Dumfries Elementary School Parent Advisory Council (PAC) warmly welcomes all families and staff members to participate in a collaborative forum dedicated to enhancing our school community. This council serves as a vital platform for shared decision-making, where voices from both home and school come together to support student success.

Through regular meetings, participants gain valuable insights into the inner workings of Dumfries Elementary. including our instructional strategies, school policies, operational procedures, and overall campus management. Each session will discuss specific themes or area of interest, such as curriculum updates, student support services, or school safety initiatives.

In addition to these focused discussions, every meeting will include time for open dialogue, allowing attendees to ask questions, share perspectives, and engage in meaningful conversations with school leadership and fellow community members. Whether you're a new parent or a long-time staff member, your input is valued and essential to shaping the future of our school.

Core Member Expectations

To ensure a productive and consistent experience for all members, participants are asked to:

  • Participate in regular meetings (six 1-hour meetings), held once a month, in-person, throughout the school year.
  • Engage honestly and respectfully, sharing opinions and experiences that reflect your unique perspective.
  • Act as a liaisons between parents and school leadership, representing the voices of the broader parent community.
  • Provide constructive feedback, helping to shape decisions and initiatives that benefit the entire school community.
  • Advise on school policies, procedures, and initiatives, including parent engagement strategies and school improvement plans.
  • Promote parent engagement, organize and support parent involvement activities and help build a welcoming an inclusive school culture.
